A recent graduate from North Carolina State University in Meteorology and Environmental Science in May of 2009, Monica is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Atmospheric Science at Purdue University. Her research project focuses on storm system interaction with urban heat island over metropolis areas like Indianapolis. This project will include a statistical analysis of WRF model runs, analysis of real-world case studies and conducted research. These studies will focus on analyzing each storm and investigating WRF model improvements and enhancements for tracking and prediction of pattern changes for each system. Past research experience includes evaluation of the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model at the State Climate Office of North Carolina.
